nearly a new year.

We all know resolutions are pointless and it also doesn't help that sentimental writing is largely created through sentimental music. So what sort of truth are we left with then, at the end of the day?

Hopefully, we can all project and feel like we are heard and then there might be reception. Well at least a recognition of reception so maybe at one time we might feel like we exist within our own language. It could feel good. It might.

Dock moments

Remember that Levi's ad where that boy took off his pants? Here is my reply.

My summer story?

I discovered the intricacies of the human body, starting with my own. The limits of love and the walls that begin to grow when the touching becomes too much. I discovered the smoke in the city, the rest and the finishing of the mundane. The rest of the world began to breath in the thickness. The restrictions in my lungs only brought fourth some sort of rest in the spirit. This race against some clock that has no impact on my own validity.

From Fringers to Folkies!

Only ten days overdue....I am going to update you all from the time we stepped foot in Regina to my current position in Winnipeg.

We left out hotel party in Medicine Hat (which by the way is "The Gas City") late Sunday morning and set out for Regina ( to attend the Regina Fringe Festival - fun fun). We stayed in the Turgeon Hostel for two nights. Turgeon Hostel is quite lovely and has a great location BUT....... we had a near run in with a potential serial killer, which led us to believe that the hostel does not have a guest screening process. Of course we skillfully avoided the creepy serial killer guy, jumped in the car and began our drive to Winnipeg! Yippppeeeeee.....

Winnipeg (which is where I currently am) is lovely! We are staying with Signi & Company ( her lovely family) who by the way is Kristin's cousin. We have been crashing here while we Folk Fested our way through the weekend! Winnipeg Folk Festival has been around for over 30 years ( I think -- I know it's old) and it was pretty amazing. We finished up the weekend by listening to the very very lovely Patrick Watson and I head home tomorrow for my birthdayyyyy.

Thanks for listening folks ( ha ha ) and I'll see you on my next adventure...

adios...

P.S Pictures below!

We are probably heading to Medicine Hat tomorrow to break up the drive to Regina. Anyway, here is some photographic evidence of the loveliness that is Banff mmmmmm....Talk soon!

Part II

Okay - So this is my last post because for the next few days I will be semi-busy and unable to access a computer. The picture above was taken at Caerphilly Castle in Wales, the town where my grandparents grew up. We started the day in Cardiff (where both my grandparents went to university) and wandered around a museum. Super fun -- I'm being serious...of course!

Next we went up to Caerphilly and went to a castle (always makes me happy....I really like castles). Caerphilly is a small Welsh town located about half an hour outside of Cardiff. It has a great castle, by the way. I really like castles...

Anyway, I'm exhausted because I thought I would be heroic and skip the medicated sleep last night. I am apparently still jet lagged and was up 'till 4am. Tomorrow my mum and I set off for London to visit a cousin and then home!

Enjoy the pics! Adios mah people, mah mah people ...

P.S Here is a random family shot . My cousin is the lady on the left and my uncle is the man in the middle ( ha! -- they drove down from London for the afternoon. We had a legal debate. It was great).

Blenheim Palace

We went to Blenheim and looked at a palace. Lovely.

I'm going to leave you with a quote from one of my favourite movies! I watched it yesterday for the seventh time. Adios dears

"Good book is it?
Oh, Jackie Collins.
I'm reading Kafka at the moment. Not very funny. Except the one about a bloke that turns into
a beetle. Really wacky. Wouldn't get anybody turning into a beetle in a Jackie Collins.
You might get someone sleeping with a beetle...' He wrapped her up, in his stick like arms, all six of them...tapping her sensuously on the head with his wiggly wobble aerials...'"

The Kates storm Cheltenham Part I

SO -- My mumma and I are currently visiting my grandparents in Cheltenham, England. These yearly trips are always a pleasure as I get to hang out with an ex-English teacher and a walking history textbook for a week. On the drive from Heathrow to Cheltenham (which by the way, is the most terrifying ordeal of the year for me), I get a play by play of the hot spots from my mothers childhood (which includes a brick wall she knocked over while kissing a boy -- amazing....nothing screams romance like the sound of falling rock). It is lovely to see my grandparents and chill out for a week (not that I have a vast amount of responsibility back home but none the less...). I will post some more pictures when I have a chance. Lots of love and adios --

Hands with eyes wide open -- this time

Good Tune

"God is a concept, By which we can measure, Our pain, I'll say it again, God is a concept, By which we can measure, Our pain,
I don't believe in magic, I don't believe in I-ching, I don't believe in bible, I don't believe in tarot, I don't believe in Hitler, I don't believe in Jesus, I don't believe in Kennedy, I don't believe in Buddha, I don't believe in mantra, I don't believe in Gita, I don't believe in yoga, I don't believe in kings, I don't believe in Elvis, I don't believe in Zimmerman, I don't believe in Beatles,
I just believe in me, Yoko and me, And that's reality. The dream is over, What can I say? The dream is over, Yesterday, I was dreamweaver, But now I'm reborn, I was the walrus, But now I'm John, And so dear friends, You just have to carry on, The dream is over. "

Jacci comes to vist!!

Yay!......I had the absolute pleasure of seeing my lovely old roommate Jacci this weekend! She took the clipper over from Seattle on friday morning and we had an incredible weekend! On Saturday morning we all participated in the Stolen Sisters memorial march to remember the missing and murdered aboriginal women across Canada (especially in B.C). I found out about this march through the commitee I'm a part of (Equity + Outreach) and I knew Jacci would love to celebrate Valentine's day this way! It was really really sad to hear so many people speak of women they had lost but it was also incredible moving. Here are some pictures....

Waiting for everyone to start marching!

The whole crew came! (I really appreciate it by the way..)

Jacci cooked us a lovely "Russian" meal on Saturday night! Amazing!!!

Mohawk......

On Sunday, Jacci, David and I went to a tea convention! (The biggest in North America). It was AMAZING! I bought a lot of yummy tea and ate about 8000 pounds of pastries...mmm I rolled home.
Anyway, It was such a fabulous weekend. As usual, whenever I hang out with Jack, we have so much fun. I am so happy I was able to see her...(if you're reading this, miss you already!!). In the words of a wise one, I'm sending peace and blessings to everyone! Take care
